Council Member Kristen Maahs

Elected to Anaheim City Council in November 2024

Representing District 5 in central-east Anaheim /

fastest growing community in Anaheim

Maahs District 5 includes

· neighborhoods on either side of the Orange (57) Freeway,

· Platinum Triangle, and surrounding businesses

· Angel Stadium,

· Honda Center

· OCVibe, and

· ARTIC.

Maahs’ focus:

· Funding and equipping Anaheim’s police and firefighters,

· addressing homelessness with compassion and impact

· promoting a strong economy by supporting new & existing Anaheim businesses and startups.

· Building on Anaheim’s extensive reforms for transparency and accountability

· ensuring public money is spent efficiently with a focus on public services.

· Anaheim Cultural and Heritage Commission Since 2020

· advises City Council on arts, culture and historic preservation.

· Anaheim Historical Society President preserving Anaheim’s history and historic places.

· Alzheimer’s Orange County Associate Director of Community Outreach and Advocacy

· Orange County Aging Services Collaborative Food Security Committee Co-Chair

· Anaheim Human Services Network

· - connecting nonprofits, faith-based groups and others to support Anaheim seniors.

· Anaheim Fall Festival & Halloween Parade and the K&A Community Holiday Brunch volunteer

Maahs’ is a Fourth-Generation Anaheim resident

· Born and raised in Anaheim, grew up in historic family “Maahs House” in Anaheim District 5

· family history goes back over a 100 years when her grandfather’s family moved to Anaheim

· attended Anaheim schools and worked for a time at Ganahl Lumber on Ball Road.

· BA in Health Sciences from Cal State University, Fullerton with emphasis on Community Health
